The lack of adequate gyms and health club facilities in India which are accessible to individuals with intellectual and physical challenges is a harsh reality.
This results in denying them the opportunities to develop their physical health, which indirectly has its bearing on their emotional well being as well.
We have seen recently the performance of the Indian delegation to the Paralympic games in 2016 which bears witness to the abilities of the disabled individuals who had in them the desire to succeed, and were lucky to have these opportunities.
There are so many in our country who have the desire, but do not have the opportunity. The need of the hour is to come together and create such opportunities.
The Village of HOPE Foundation a registered Charitable trust established under the pertinent laws of India functions with the primary objective of enabling children, youth, and adults with intellectual and physical challenges achieve their full potential.
As part of its ongoing efforts to identify and implement projects that fill existing void in the society to enhance the quality of life of persons with disabilities, they have embarked on the AccessAbility project which endeavors to establish gyms and health clubs which are accessible to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. The first pilot gym is expected to open doors in Chennai soon.
The cost of establishing a full fledged model gymnasium with safe and customized equipment, trained and compassionate staff, is no small matter. Its huge.
The foundation actively seeks donations from corporate and individual supporters to make this project successful.
All donations to the Village of HOPE are eligible for exemption U/S 80G of the Income Tax Act of India. This makes AccessAbility an excellent project to support either out of your interest to reach out and help others who are less fortunate, or as part of your corporate social responsibility.
In making AccessAbility a reality, together we would have triggered off a social transformation that will reach the length and breadth of the country, and touch and change so many lives over the years.
