AccessAbility is a project of the Village of HOPE Foundation, aimed at bringing gymnasiums and health clubs closer to individuals with intellectual or physical challenges of all ages.

In establishing a model gymnasium in Chennai, the foundation would have paved way for many such facilities across India.

​

Currently there are no similar projects/ facilities anywhere in the country. There are numerous youth and adults with challenges who are capable of enhancing their quality of life by joining and participating in programs offered by such customized facilities. This program can also benefit senior citizens and other adults with mobility issues who dread the thought of visiting a regular gym.

​

Not only will these facilities be used by the disabled patrons, but also their families, friends, and others, thereby creating more opportunities for integration of the disabled, better understanding of their unique needs, and creation of more value.

​

Under the watchful and understanding eyes of trained and qualified trainers, these challenged individuals will achieve higher self esteem, and joy.

In promoting healthier lifestyle for them, they will receive the physical stimulation so badly needed for their bodies that have thus far been confined to wheelchairs or indoors due to lack of opportunities.

​

In promoting a franchisee model, this project endeavors to trigger the establishment of similar centers across India.

​

A not-for-profit, yet sustainable subscription based model will ensure long term sustainability.

​

Active partnership with the community including corporate and individual sponsors and supporters will ensure further enhancement.

​

Enhanced awareness and participation over the long term will also open up legislative changes which will make it necessary for all gymnasiums in the country to be adaptable to the needs of individuals with challenges. 

​

A small project titles AccessAbility would then have achieved its long term vision, and contributed in more than one way in triggering a social transformation that touches lives.
